Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the services of Desert-World International. By booking a trip with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Booking and Payment
Booking Confirmation: A booking is considered confirmed upon receipt of a 30% non-refundable deposit of the total trip cost.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days prior to the date of departure. Bookings made within 60 days of departure must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Payment Methods: We accept payment via bank transfer and major credit cards.
2. Cancellations
Cancellation by You
All cancellation requests must be made in writing. The following cancellation fees apply, calculated from the date we receive your written notification:
90 days or more prior to departure: Loss of the 30% non-refundable deposit.
61 - 89 days prior to departure: 50% of the total trip cost.
60 days or less prior to departure: 100% of the total trip cost.
Certain non-refundable items, such as gorilla permits or specific park fees, will be forfeited regardless of the cancellation date. We strongly advise purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.
Cancellation by Us
In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour for reasons other than force majeure, you will be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses you may have incurred.
3. Travel Documents
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the following:
A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining from your date of entry.
All necessary visas, permits, and certificates for the countries you will visit.
Proof of required vaccinations (e.g., Yellow Fever).
We can offer guidance, but we are not responsible for any travel disruptions due to incomplete or incorrect documentation.
4. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all clients. Your insurance must cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, personal injury, death, and emergency repatriation. You must provide proof of your insurance before your departure date.
5. Itinerary Changes
While we strive to adhere to the planned itinerary, Africa is an unpredictable continent. We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, road conditions, or wildlife movements, ensuring the quality of the tour and your safety is maintained.
6. Limitation of Liability
Travel to remote African destinations carries inherent risks, including but not limited to wildlife encounters, illness, and accidents. By booking a trip with us, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Desert-World International, its employees, and partners will not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity that may occur.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
